Let me introduce myself I am Lwanele. Just over two years old and counting. A boy. Born with a list of special conditions. Conditions that have seen me undergo at least 4 major operations and a number of other procedures in my first 12 months.
From birth I stayed my first 51 days in the Neonatal ICU during which time, I had two operations. The first one, to fix Esophageal atresia (EA), when I was just 24 hours old. Yeah, you got that right, my esophagus wasn’t connecting to the stomach.
Now I’m fixed and attacking my other challenges. I’m still cooing, screaming, laughing and all. Thanks to unceasing prayers and love from family and friends as well as the efforts of a super team of doctors and other medical practitioners.
